Do you ever find yourself praying or crying out these words to God, “Lord, I need your strength”? I know that I have. Whether it’s been for added strength to clean up my house, work on an assignment, deal with my kids, help my husband, push through a workout, or to endure the process of training or a trial…I HAVE CALLED OUT FOR HELP AND STRENGTH! Have you?
You are reading this for a reason. Pause for a second and think about why you need His strength, and ask Him for it. Jesus tells in Matthew 7:7, “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” He is the One who will sustain you. He will give you the strength to endure whatever you’re going through or will go through in the future when you cry out to Him. You can trust Him.
The reality is that we really can’t do anything without the Lord? We need Him every day. And that’s how we should live this Christian life. Sure, we can try to stand strong on our own, but how far will that get actually us? Simply put…we NEED Jesus. So call out to Him.
As you go through your Christian life, be honest with the Lord. Let Him know exactly where you are. Granted He already knows, but if you tell Him the truth about where you, then you won’t find yourself whining, complaining, or being mentally or emotionally drained. These kinds of actions don’t change the situation, nor does it please God. So when you find yourself running out of fuel or you feel like you want to quit, give up, or run, stop and ask the Lord to renew your strength and restore the joy of your salvation.
If you’re super tired right now, are you putting your trust in the Lord or walking in your own strength? If you’re waiting on God to move in your situation and growing weary, are you trusting Him while knowing that His timing is perfect? Are you ready to throw in the towel on something, because it’s too hard? Ask God for wisdom in what to do in your season and meditate on Isaiah 40:31 which says, “But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” Let God give you that new strength.
And finally, here’s a few practical tips:

And finally, here’s a few practical tips:
- If you’re working on a project or assignment and you run into a roadblock – stop, pray, breathe, and ask the Lord to help you (you might need to take a break, a nap, revamp, re-prioritize, or refocus)
- Check your health (if you’re extremely fatigued) and sign up for a good workout program (& grab some vitamins)
- If you’re in a sudden trial or facing something really hard, continue to pray for strength and endure (God will be your strength, just be patient through it, because He has a plan for it and it will work out for your good in the end – Romans 8:28)
- Seek godly counsel if you need additional help
